EAS Vietnam in cooperatation to host the "Education Administration Forum"

On August 1st, 2019, the Ministry of Education and Training in cooperation with the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An Province and EAS Vietnam, held the "Forum for Promoting the Vietnamese Spirit to build a learning society in educational organizations" in Vinh City, Nghe An Province. Joined at the forum, there are representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, representatives of departments; projects of the Ministry; the Head of the Continuing Education Department; representatives of the businesses from 63 provinces and cities across Viet Nam.

After the opening ceremony hosted by Deputy Minister Nguyen Huu Do, Mr. Bui Phuong Viet Anh, President of EAS Vietnam said: “For the first time, the Ministry of Education and Training takes innovative and creative steps. History will record these innovative steps! Investment and development are not just for economic.”

During more than 2 hours for open discuss, a large number of questions from educational businesses were raised for experts and managers in education. The most controversial issue was the change in the Vietnamese Education Law (2019) with its impacts on investment policies and the socialization of education in continuing education.

The majority agreed that the Law (2019) helped free the continuing education, ensure openness, flexibility, continuity, equality and promote public-private cooperation; make the most efficient use of available resources for socialization of education.

However, there are bottlenecks and difficulties needed to unblock, such as the time and process for investment licensing, standards of evaluation and quality assurance for teaching staff at organizations training foreign language, computer training, life skills, etc.

Representatives of private educational organizations also expressed their desire to accompany with the government in promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all, for example, adding experts, holding conferences and workshops of professional consultation, sharing initiatives and models; creating open educational resources to popularize English.

Delivering at the Forum, Ms. Vu Thi Tu Anh - Deputy Director of Continuing Educational Department shared her emotion and joy when witnessing the full reunion of the large family of continuing education, including public sectors and private sectors. According to her, this forum results from many previous efforts, which takes small step in the journey to actualize the concern of generations about uniting all social forces to create synergy for continuing education.
